To Grandmother's house we go....

With our Newfoundland vacation drawing to a close, Bridget and I were very happy to squeeze in another visit to Melrose! We were also very happy that the weather was much more pleasent than the last time we were there! Bridget got to look out of Great Nanny Donovan's birdwatching window and see a saucy bunch of Jay's who were none too interested in posing for photos. The minute I would open the door with the camera they would take to flight, only to return the very second I turned my back.

Having grown tired of trying to trick the birds, I made my way across the road to the stage. Luckily, there were two crab boats just pulling in, ready unload their haul. I managed to snap a few photos of the activity before getting recruited to help move over 3800 pounds of crab from the boat to the scales and then into the stage to wait for the truck to come take it away. About halfway through the first boat, I stood amazed at the number of crab that could be fit into a boat...and wondered how much it would cost me at Red Lobster!
