Bridget was blessed to have Nanny and Poppy Barrett come all the way from St. John's to celebrate her 1st birthday with her! She was so excited to see them in person, as opposed to via the computer on the 'Nanny Phone', which is known to the rest of the world as a web cam.
We had a small party at our house with family and our good friend Ashley as well as Nanny and Poppy. I was so excited to see Bridget squish into her very first piece of chocolate cake. After the 'Backyardigans' were removed, we set it in front of her and we all posed like Paparazzi with our cameras. It turns out that Bridget is her fathers child because she gently touched the sugary goodness of the cake and then licked her finger. Then she pushed it away. No cake for this spunky little birthday girl. She likes her chicken and rice!
Don't worry, there are photos to follow of her special day! I will be posting them tomorrow after I have had a chance to get home from our road trip with Nanny and Poppy to Medicine Hat!

Ah Sister...
I do believe Nanny and Poppy Barrett have been home from Alberta for a week now, so "tomorrow" happened long enough for me to be seeing Birthday pictures now!
