Island in the Mist Photography | My View Through the Lens....

I say quite often that I prefer the weather in Edmonton but I love the scenery in Newfoundland. I really miss my family and friends, walking down Water Street, and the overbearing heat from wood stoves. I also really miss the breathtaking backdrops that millions of years of pounding wind and waves have sculpted.

I am new to the You Tube world. In fact, for a very long I time I couldn't figure out why searching U Tube didn't result in what everyone else was clearly enjoying. Silly me. Or as the teenagers who use my house as a hangout would say, My Bad.

But today I found the best thing ever. If you were looking in my window (and I really would find it quite weird if you were, so please just pretend for purposes of this story) this afternoon, you would have seen my all teary eyed. Yes. Teary eyed and weepy at something I found on You Tube.

This is where some of you will call me a geek and others (likely those who are from Newfoundland and now live elsewhere) will understand and may get a little misty eyed yourself.



I found several of these, and I am so happy to share this one. In days to come, should I feel wistful, I will share other favorites. They make me happy in a sad sort of way. I am not sure how a professional would communicate that, but this little homesick girl will just say, happy in a sad sort of way. Anyone who loves where they are but longs to be somewhere else will understand.
