My new best friend...

Remember when you were a little kid, and everyone was your best friend? No one was worried about what label was sewn onto the back of your shirt or who could run the fastest. No one cared what you (or your parents) did for a living. Life was about having fun.

I remembered how much fun being a little kid was on Thursday. When Mikey, Alexis, their Mom, Aunt Maggie and I headed off to a park in Red Deer for photos. We had been at the park, playing and taking photos for about 10 minutes. We were the only people there, until a little girl arrived. From a distance, I hear a little girl say, "I have a little dog and she is a girl dog, I have a big dog and he is a boy."

I then hear little Alexis say, "I have dogs too!" and divulge all of the details.

One little girl chased after the other to the slide and in 2 minutes flat I hear those words I haven't heard since I was a little girl....

"Will you be my new best friend?"
